Memory Walk 2018
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year over 110,000 people walk united, against dementia. We aim, with your help to raise over £9 million to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

In 2013 my dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia , this type of dementia is caused by reduced blood flow to the brain. It is estimated to affect around 150,000 people in the UK and there is currently no cure or treatment.  My dad is slowly deteriorating which is very frustrating for him and hard for everybody that loves him to watch. As a nurse working for the NHS I come accross many people suffering with dementia and see how it affects them and their families. On Saturday 29th September I will be taking part in the memory walk with my dad to raise as much awareness as we can.
