Who I am:
My name is Aiden Bliesner. I’ve lived in Yakima my whole life and have attended Catholic school since kindergarten. Throughout my time at La Salle High School, I’ve engaged in multiple service projects including helping out at the Yakima Humane Society and Cottage in the Meadow. I’ve also participated in leadership classes that have given me the opportunity to be a leader at La Salle.
What am I doing:
As a Mr. La Salle nominee, I am participating in The Memorial Foundation’s YouthWorks program to raise money for local child health services. My teammates and I are supporting Children's Village and Memorial Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) among other organizations. To raise money, we accept community donations and host various fundraiser activities such as restaurant takeovers, and in-school sales.
Why I’m fundraising:
I am a strong believer in the LaSallian core values; specifically respect for all persons, inclusive community, and concern for the poor and social justice. This fundraiser is a great opportunity to live out these core values and help those in my community through the Memorial Foundation. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to get to personally help the children at Children’s Village as I’ve seen first hand the positive effects of their work. By donating you are not only helping me, but the children in our Yakima community as a whole and supporting the Memorial Foundations mission. The Memorial Foundation strives to develop comprehensive, innovative solutions and new models of care to address the primary health needs of our neighbors. All donations are greatly appreciated and I thank everyone who supports this cause.
