Story
At Mozidia Trust, we envision a Bangladesh with a healthy population where everyone is afforded dignity, inclusion, and the right to healthcare regardless of their circumstances and we strive to eliminate health inequity and contribute to alleviating the overwhelming poverty suffered by so many across the country.
We are fundraising for the Ideal Health Complex which currently serves the local and surrounding communities, treating hundreds of patients for issues ranging from diabetes health checks to dentistry and through the support and generosity of our donors, we continue to increase our offerings to meet the needs of those who otherwise have no access to the most basic of services.
Utilising the Islamic principles of Zakaat, those who are eligible will always receive free healthcare and nobody will ever be turned away from our facilities.
Who We Are
Mozidia Trust is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, committed to making healthcare accessible to all across rural Bangladesh.
Established in 2003, the charity’s journey began in response to the statistics of the staggering number of deaths within rural areas of Bangladesh. Through research and comprehension of the Bangladesh health system, questions were raised as to how many of these deaths could have been prevented and lives preserved if only adequate healthcare was available for everyone, especially the most marginalised members of impoverished communities where mortality rates were at their highest.
Our Project
The first healthcare project is based in the village of Karoa, Faridganj in the Chandpur district of Bangladesh and was initiated to respond to the high infant mortality rates at the time. Most impoverished families have never even visited a healthcare facility let alone been treated by medical professionals and sadly the pregnant women within these communities were left without any specialist care for themselves or their newborns. The opening of the Mother and Child unit in 2003 has given women a safe space to be treated and their pregnancies and childbirth managed under the care of professionals irrespective of their financial capabilities. This unit continues to successfully serve the community and has led to the creation of a wider offering of services over the years namely – The Ideal Health Complex.
