We help stroke survivors to find strength through support.

Story

Call us crazy but Josef Fuchs and I have decided to take up the challenge of cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats this summer!!!  We will be cycling roughly 60-70 miles a day for around 16 days in total.  The overall distance is approximately 1000miles!  Joe and I will be joined by Alison Hutchison from Gretna to John O’Groats.

Joe, Ali and I are all raising money for charities important to us.  I have decided to raise money for The Stroke Association.  Strokes are the third most common cause of death in the UK, after heart disease and cancer.  Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other chronic disease.  Over 300,000 people are living with moderate to severe disabilities as a result of stroke.  Stroke units save lives: for stroke patients general wards have a 14% to 25% higher mortality rate than stroke units.  Stroke units need funding and I hope to assist the association by raising money to support this very worthwhile charity.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
