Story
At the start of 2007 my wife Emma was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer, she was just 32 years old.
Despite having a mastectomy operation, numerous intensive cycles of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the cancer cells were found to have spread to many other parts of her body and in 2009 Emma was told that her condition was terminal.
Emma bravely fought until her condition worsened. She went to the Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester where she received exceptional care during her final days. She died peacefully on 28th May 2012.
She was a dignified, classy and elegant lady who showed many the real meaning of survivorship and the art of living with an uncertain future. She never once complained about the situation she found herself in and was rarely without a smile.
I feel privileged and honoured to have been her husband.
Inspired by her love of the outdoors I am joining a group of other Weldmar fundraisers to trek around Mont Blanc - 3 countries in 3 days. The cost of my travel and other expenses has been paid for separately by myself so you can be confident that 100% of your generously donated money will go to Weldmar.
