Story

We are a group from MILTON KEYNES CANOE CLUB who are attempting the THREE LAKES CHALLENGE in Cumbria.

Earlier in the year one of our ambitious, some may say "crazy" member decided it would be a good idea to attempt this challenge. After rounding up a few other members a meeting was held at the local pub and a team was formed.  It was decided that we would do the event in early September and the charity that would benefit from our fund raising was to be WILLEN HOSPICE.

Training then began for this event.

The Challenge

To paddle the length of the 3 longest lakes in Cumbria, these are Ullswater, Coniston Water and Windermere a distance of 35Kms (approximately 22 miles) in just a 10 hour period.

This will take approximately 40,000 paddle strokes, each team member could lose up to 6 pints of liquid in perspiration and may get thumb blisters of up 3mm in height.

Hopefully these few facts will help to underline the amount of effort involved!

Your support would be very much appreciated.

Please visit our facebook page for update on our training.
