We support disadvantaged communities to improve conditions of peoples lives

Story

COVID 19 has been sweeping through Care Homes taking the lives of both Staff and Residents alike at a rate many times greater than in the general population.

We will initially provide an additional testing resource via whole Care Home saliva testing. Our aim is also to purchase specialised machines to provide faster results to enable a more immediate response to the COVID-19 risk.

You can help by joining in the challenge while encouraging your supporters to donate.

Upload videos of your bounces to #millionbouncechallenge and of course you can search for your friends epic attempts to!

Video your best bounce target within one minute using any racket, bat or ball, juggle a football, bounce a basketball or be creative. Perhaps even throw in a trick or two to get noticed!

Please donate and why not include with your uploads to Instagram, Facebook or both the suggestions below but definitely tag all your friends to get them joining in and maybe trying to beat your bounce score; your video may even appear in the stream above!!

#millionbouncechallenge name, bounces, comments, maybe donation made plus tag those friends

Greater detail on our Planned Covid-19 Testing Strategy

Testing everyone at once within a care home with almost immediate results fed back will be a game changer in the fight against COVID-19.

Initial funds raised will enable us to provide an additional testing resource via Saliva Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing to care homes. These tests use the same technology as currently used by the Government.

Following funding success the next phase would be to fund
Nasal/throat swab PCR testing machines. Each mobile unit can test 60 to 80 people a day using the Polymerase Chain Reaction nasal & throat swabs. These tests provide results in around 30 minutes allowing staff to act with a more immediate response to the Covid-19 risk.

There are approximately 75,000 residents in council funded Care Homes alone in England. COVID-19 is a massive problem being talked about but not addressed within Care Homes. Let’s together get the ball not only 'bouncing' in the challenge but also 'rolling' in reality in order to:

  • TEST FOR & TRACE COVID-19
  • CONFINE COVID-19
  • AND STOP COVID-19 IN CARE HOMES
