Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the MACP JustGiving page.
The Mid-Ulster Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MACP), based in Coalisland Co Tyrone, are a counselling organisation and a charity that specialise in Suicide, Addiction and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), although we also provide counselling for a whole wide range of psychological difficulties.
Our geographical catchment area is Mid-Ulster, Lough Shores and surrounding areas.
As a direct result of Covid-19, we have been inundated by high numbers of clients suffering from from suicidal ideation, heightened anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and domestic violence. And this in addition to our normal client numbers who usually attend for counselling.
As such, we have had to locate a larger and more suitable premises, and as luck would have it, we have done just that. MACP will be moving into the new building beside Annagher service station early in the new year.
The location of the premises is perfect, just outside the town with parking at the front and back of the building.
It also has full disability access with a lift in place. When the internal work is complete, we will have 4 fabulous counselling rooms, a large training room, (which can be divided into two additional counselling rooms), a kitchen, disability toilets, an office and a spacious waiting area.
MACP have applied to a number of funders to complete the internal work and running costs for a full three year project, but as a charity, we also need to raise our own funds to make a financial contribution.
We are calling on the good people of Mid-Ulster and surrounding areas, to help us raise a part of what we need to 'kit out' this beautiful, spacious and extremely comfortable facility.
On Saturday December the 19th, we are holding our annual street collection. This years collection will be special, as we have two teams of professionals superhero's' joining us called Beastly Costumes & Smurfachu Cosplays.
