Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A colleague, Tori, and myself have said for years that completing the Bupa Great North Run would be a fantastic acheivement. We've worked at the event finish line many times but never actually taken part. So when the chance for two numbers came up recently we decided to bite the bullet and take part this year! We're both relatively fit but neither of us has really done any running previously. We're going to do as much training as possible in the four weeks leading up to the race but aren't expecting to break any records with our times!
As an added incentive we decided to run for two charities that mean something to us both. I am running on behalf of the Stroke Association. My father-in-law suffered from a stroke and so did our friend's mother. Within the last few months a friend of ours has also received a lot of help from the Stroke Association after developing complications after the birth of her son in June. Tori is running on behalf of the Tiny Lives charity which looks after premature babies at the RVI in Newcastle. My neice was born very prematurely and only made it because of the first class care she received from Tiny Lives.
We realise that there is a limited amount of time until the run but anything we raise will be a help to both of these excellent charities. Donating on this page means your money will go straight to the Stroke Assosiation and donating on Tori's page (www.justgiving.com/victoria-loader) means that Tiny Lives will receive the donation. No matter how small, your donation will make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support.
