Story
Dear All,
I heard about this Madagascar ride for Norwood and decided I would have a go. I'm told it isn't a holiday but a 'challenge'. I have looked at the itinerary and it doesn't sound easy. We are cycling around 90km a day, back to back for 5 days. On one of the days we also climb 3000ft, which is about 12 Highgate hills.
I have been on some training rides with the charity. These are somewhat chastening because some of the residents from Norwood are also training for the trip on tandems and they just keep going! It's hard to show fatigue.
I have paid for the whole thing.
But people who have heard that I am going some of whom have been sponsored by me in the past, have asked to sponsor me(back!) which is very kind, although I think it's primarily so that I can't chicken out.
All your money will go straight to the charity.
I even had an accident, noone had told me so when I applied the front brake instead of the rear I went over the handle-bars - ouch.
I'm still going. Can't give up now. The Norwood charity needs the money too much.
