Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 7th Sep 2014 I am running a half marathon (13.6miles/21km) in memory of DJ Denmead in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

In Sep 2012 DJ, my grandad, passed away, however my family lost him a long time before this to Alzheimer's disease.  It was very painful to watch DJ forget many simple things, like how to tell the time.  This then progressed to him not recognising family and friends.  For DJ and us, this was a very difficult process.  Unfortunately my Granny is now going through the same process.

The Alzheimer's society provide support to people with dementia, their families and careers, as well as investing in research to understand the causes of this disease and potential cures.  To help the Alzheimer's societies continue to do their fantastic work, and to help other families suffering as a result of this disease, I want to raise money by running a half marathon.  Any donations, no matter how small are very welcome, and I thank you for your support.
