We are taking part in this year’s Kiltwalk to raise funds for Portlethen Primary’s Enhanced Provision class, as well as for WeToo who are a brilliant charity proving support and services to families with children with additional support needs.

WeToo work tirelessly with local businesses to provide services including relaxed sessions at dozens of places where ASN children may struggle to attend due to overstimulation, anxiety and fear. These sessions, which include settings such as cinema, soft play, theme parks and football matches, have been life changing for so many families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to experience these places with their children, including our own family.

Our son Noah has been part of Portlethen’s Enhanced Provision class since 2021 and in that time he has truly flourished thanks to both the environment and the immense care and support of the teaching staff.

Unfortunately funding can often be hard to come by for classes like this especially when specific resources and equipment are needed, sometimes to the point that teaching staff are purchasing items for the class out of their own pocket. Any funds raised as part of this kiltwalk will go towards invaluable resources for this class and we have seen first hand what a difference this can make.
