Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On October 13th 2013, I will be running the Perkins East Half Marathon. For those of you who know me, you will know I have never been much of a runner but I chose to run this half marathon to raise money for a very worthy cause. I will be raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust South West Appeal.

Ella Redman (whose Uncle is my Mum's boss) died last November aged just 20.  She had been suffering from bone cancer since 2011 and very sadly there was no cure.  She spent over 100 nights in various hospital wards, including the Oncology Hospital in Bristol. Ella was a big part of the push for Bristol to get its own teenage cancer unit, a place that could make the worst times in some young people's lives a bit more manageable.

It was Ella's hope that other young people who experience the trauma of cancer would have their own specialist young persons oncology unit in Bristol, rather than be treated alongside much older patients which is what happened to Ella.

Any donation that you are able to give will be immensely appreciated and support on the day would be good too.
