A marathon for Motor Neurone disease

London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·
Having been, or seen, too many close to me impacted by Motor Neurone Disease (MND) over the past few years, I really want to do something to help.
I lost my mum (Pamela Epps) to MND in November 2013. She did an amazing job raising awareness / funds once diagnosed. Always in the paper - cake sales / coffee mornings / picnics.. Reaching a fundraising total of over £5k when she passed away. So, with this cause being very close to my heart it's time to pull on the trainers and raise as much cash as I can in her memory. I've NEVER ran a marathon before. No idea if I can do it. But 5000 people are living with MND in the UK @ this point in time. 6 people newly diagnosed a day. And that's plenty motivation to run for 26 miles..
/// UPDATE
In the last few months I've also been talking to a really great man at work, Mr Rob Owen, who was one of the nicest and friendliest faces to greet me at Mace six years ago. And is always one of the brightest sparks in the room. Rob is living with MND, having been diagnosed in early 2016, and I've promised to do as much as I can to raise awareness, and sponsorship funds both within the Mace community, and beyond. All proceeds of fundraising will be split equally as a result. And we're going to do as much as we possibly can to make a difference.

MND is a rubbish disease. There's still not enough known about it. Let alone a cure. So any money raised, which goes straight into new research is going to make a difference. Please give what you can. Let's live in hope and not fear people.
Thanks. It really does mean a lot.
