Story
Dear all,
I am running 'THE GREAT NORTH RUN' again on Sunday 15TH of September 2013 in aid of MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS. The Great North Run is the premier event in The Great Run series and is Britain's biggest participation event. (55,000 this year) 8 of the 13.1 miles are also uphill.
Last time I completed the 21.097 Kilometers in 1:46:42 and Raised £1884.96. It would be an immense boost to the charity and sufferers of MS if I can raise even more this time.
As many of you know, my Mother suffered from MS for 16 years until she sadly passed away.
Although MS is not thought to be hereditary, my first cousin MICHAEL WALKER ( known to many as 'CHARLIE' in the Rugby Club ) now suffers from the illness.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition which affects 100,000 people in the UK. Most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, but affects younger and older people too. Almost 3 times as many women have MS as men. MS is complex and has many symptoms and might include fatigue, vision problems and difficulties with walking, but MS is different for everyone. While ther are treatments and therapies to help with the illness, at present there is no cure.
I know times are tough but I would be extremely grateful for any donation you can make, no matter how small, as every penny counts. MS is a cruel and debilitating ilness and any contribution I can give towards improving treatments or trying to find a cure will be money well spent.
Can I please take this opportunity to thank you all in advance for you support. If you are members of social networking sites it would also be appreciated if you would be kind enough to post my link on your profile. Even if people don't know me and don't want to contribute, it will still help greatly to raise awareness of MS.
FYI. My entry fee, travell & accommodation is totally self funded.
