On 2nd October 2011 Stu Barlow, Mark Horton and a group of fundraisers will attempt to summit the world’s highest free standing mountain KILIMANJARO.
At 5,895m, is one of the largest volcanoes ever to break through the Earth's crust.
Stu and Mark are raising funds for Caring Matters Now (www.caringmattersnow.co.uk)
Caring Matters Now is a support group raising funds for continuing research into Congenital Melanocytic Naevi.
What is CMN??
A congenital melanocytic naevus (usually abbreviated to CMN: plural CMNs) is one of a wide variety of different types of birthmark that may occur in newborn babies:
Stu and Mark have agreed to take part in the challenge along with Jodi Unsworth. Jodi was born with CMN covering 80% of her body and understood the physical and emotional strains associated with the condition firsthand. As a result, the Caring Matters Now Support Group was established in 2000.
Today, the CMN support group has over 160 families registered - with 10 regional support groups in operation. A small team of those with CMN and parents of children with CMN run the support group throughout the . Caring Matters Now is a registered charity.

By making a donation, you will help to continue the ongoing research into CMN @ Great Ormond Street Hospital and also help to raise awareness about the CMN skin condition. Approximately £40,000 is needed every year to continue the research.
