Story
On the 6th August 2009, Mark McCurdy and Josh Baird will be travelling to Kenya as part of a team that will be working for a charity called Moving Mountains , which was founded by Gavin Bate in 2002. Gavin had been doing charitable work in the slums of Kenya and Nepal since 1991 and had gained an insight into the people and their needs and was able to identify where money was most needed and would go the farthest. Moving Mountains ensures that all the money it raises goes where it’s needed, as all the administration costs are paid for by Adventure Alternative Ltd, of which Gavin is a director. While our team is in Kenya , we will be working with street children and on renovating a school called Tigithi and a nearby orphanage. Also as part of our trip we will be aiming to climb the trekking peak of Mt. Kenya (16,350ft) as the expedition for our Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
