Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

So...we did it! I somehow got through the 26 miles and you have all raised over £3,000 for the Stroke Association!! Amazing.

All in all, the big day (Sunday 22nd April) was a great success. Bar losing a couple of toenails, I managed to make it round in one piece and had the bonus of getting a nice tan at the same time!

Unfortunately I didn't manage to make it round in my target of 3 hours 45 mins, but I always knew this was going to be a tough ask. My more realistic target was to make it inside 4 hours but, in spite of a sprint finish, I missed this by just 23 seconds!

It was an incredible experience and without doubt the hardest thing I have ever done - but the support and atmosphere on the day was awesome. I couldn't have done it without the help of all of you who have sponsored me.

It has been an absolutely amazing and quite humbling tribute to Mum, Dad and I that so many of you have given so generously to support the Stroke Association and me.

This money goes a very long way to helping the Stroke Association and it's work - for example:

£20 keeps the Stroke helpline open for an hour;

£50 helps the Stroke Association publish and distribute 600 information booklets

£100 provides a Welfre Grant for a stroke patient who needs a helping hand buying essential equipment for life after a stroke

£3,000 (the amount we have raised so far) will contribute to setting up pioneering research projects into dysphasia and stroke therapy.

Thank you all so much for your generosity in helping me achieve something that I think would have made Dad very proud.
