Story
St Giles Trust is being supported by Jacqui Learoyd's webinar on Speech and Language Therapy in Prisons. Jacqui Learoyd is proud to work in the prison setting. This is something of a new area for SLT and the evidence base for this specific client group is still emerging. Jacqui set up the SLT service at HMP Berwyn which is the UK's largest prison, and has designed the service with the input and feedback of her service users. Jacqui received a Giving Voice 2019 award from the RCSLT to recognise her outstanding contribution to the profession. Her special clinical and research interests include ASD, learning disability, mental health, ACEs, skill building, offender rehab and complex comorbidities.
St Giles Trust is a charity using expertise and real-life past experiences to empower people who are not getting the help they need. People held back by poverty, exploited, abused, dealing with addiction or mental health problems, caught up in crime or a combination of these issues and others. This charity shows people there is a way to build a better future - for themselves and those they care about - and help them create this through support, advice and training. St Giles Trust raises awareness of their situation and fights their corner to ensure long term changes are put in place. St Giles Trust runs projects across the UK and reaches 25,000 people each year.
This fantastic charity is doing amazing work. Please help us to reach our donation goal!
