Hello,

My brother and I are running Bath Half Marathon in March 2019 and Manchester Marathon in April 2019 for Time is Precious.

Time is Precious is a voluntary run charity which has been running since 2011. It was set up by Neil and Nicky Halford in memory of their son Ben who sadly died from cancer in 2010. 

The charity help support RUH in Bath, Bristol Children’s Hospital and Yeovil Hospital.

I decided to start fundraising for Time is Precious in 2014, when my daughter Lily Rose was first seriously poorly and since has been regularly admitted to Yeovil Hospital with breathing difficulties, most recently in December 2018.

So far donations I have raised have helped to refurbish the children’s A&E waiting room, children’s ward and Rainbow Room at Yeovil Hospital.

The aim of the charity is to help create a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for children and their families in hospital or at home.

The charity works alongside specialists to purchase equipment and refurbish areas to support not just those children who because of illness or disability find themselves in hospital for treatment but also their families who want to be with them because time is just that precious.

Time Is Precious, aim to help as many children as possible who may need extra equipment not supplied by the NHS at home. This could also include sensory equipment, specialised devices such as Eye Gaze Communication etc. Every child is unique & will need equipment to suit them, working alongside hospital staff, to ensure the needs of the child is met correctly.
