We help people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilled lives

Story

Hey everyone,

Some of you will be aware and some of you won’t that in April 2008 my sister Emily was tragically killed whilst traveling in New Zealand.  Em was 21 and had just graduated from University with a first in Law and was having the time of her life traveling the world.  As you can imagine coming to terms with this is a huge struggle and in her memory both her family and friends have come together and set up The Emily Jordan Foundation.  This charity aims to help individuals with moderate learning and physical disabilities to lead fulfilled lives.  The money raised so far has gone towards purchasing a unit where these young adults go to on a regular basis to improve their life skills and train for work.  This is a hugely positive step in improving these individuals day to day lives and the fundraising can’t stop.  Now its our turn to do it!

Me and Toria are taking on the challenge of walking part of the great wall of China in September 2010 in aid of the foundation!!  This will be both a physical and mental task for us and we really need your support!  The trip will be 9 days of intense and strenuous walking up and down lots of stairs in a hot climate!

This is a cause that is obviously very close to my heart and I hope that you can make as generous as possible contribution to help us fulfil this daunting challenge.  I know these are tough times (especially for students) but every penny helps so please please support us.

For more information about the great work the foundation is doing please visit the website at www.theemilyjordanfoundation.org.uk and also have a look at the merchandise available.  The registered charity number is 1125382.

Lots of love and thankyou,

Lucy xxxx
