Story
Our beautiful friend, Georgie Beadman was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2008. For over 6 years she bravely took on every treatment available to her and continued to live a full, happy and adventurous life until Georgie finally lost her battle on February 11th 2015. She leaves behind her amazing husband, Cristian, and two gorgeous children, Alfred & Jemima. We all miss her hugely every day.
We wanted to organise an event in honour of George and to raise money for the BTRC which is a charity which George supported. Funding for brain tumour
research is shockingly low considering that brain tumours kill more children
and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer; brain tumour research
receives just 1% of the national spend on cancer research.
So on Saturday 17th September, a group of us are planning on walking 1km for every year of George's life - 42km in total which is 26 miles - a marathon! We will be walking along the South Downs Way.
Hopefully it will be a day when we can walk together, remembering Georgie
whilst raising money for this amazing charity. Every penny is hugely appreciated!
