Colin Chrystall was the father of my partner, Becky and I had the pleasure of knowing him for the best part of ten years. I can quite honestly say that he was one of the the most kind, generous and selfless persons I've ever met. He was devoted to his family and friends and would do anything for them. Colin loved his life and was very active and extremely hardworking, even in retirement!

Colin was very much a sportsman in his lifetime. He became a professional footballer in his youth and played for Queen of the South. Colin also ran several marathons and was a very keen golfer. Colin was a member of Beverley and East Riding Golf Club for many years and enjoyed the role of club captain there in 2008. I enjoyed several rounds of golf there in Colin's company. On the 19th January 2014, Colin achieved what every golfer dreams of; that elusive hole in one, on Beverley's 4th hole. Needless to say, Colin's bar bill in the clubhouse later on was pretty substantial! :)

It is very fitting then, that we will be doing our Longest Day Golf Challenge at Beverley. The challenge will take place on Monday 27th July 2015. We will be playing four rounds of golf in one day, starting at first light and hoping to finish before the light fades completely! It will be fun, but extremely tiring! But we will be glad in the knowledge that we are raising money for an amazing cause (Macmillan Cancer Support) and honouring the memory of an amazing man.
