Story
We continue to raise funds for our son Sam, who was born with cerebral palsy. He will need physiotherapy, enabling equipment and other interventions throughout his life.
Over the past 7 years we have been so fortunate to experience huge generosity from family, friends and strangers. To date £57,000 has been raised for Sam!!. 6 years ago a huge portion of the funds,£40,000, was used for spinal surgery in the States, Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy. The procedure benefited Sam on so many levels. He became more in control of his movments, was able to sleep through the night and after many months of intensive strengthening therapy could walk with the help of a walking frame.
Since the spinal surgery Sam has had weekly private physiotherapy, horse riding, hydrotherapy and attended many intensive strength and physio courses. All of this input has helped Sam to maintain what he's gained physically and even improved on strength and mobility.
Sam is now approaching teenage years Obviously this will mean many changes going on in his body. rapid growth will be a tricky development to manage. We may have to increase physio and work very hard to keep him mobile. Fortunately Sam is quite determined to continue working on himself and has a great attitude towards his future.
We can honestly say Sam would not have achieved as much as he has without the help we have received. We have been truly overwhelmed by the support for him and will be extremely grateful for any help we may receive in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you so much for donating we really do appreciate every penny.
