Let's Get Quizzical! For Rainbow Railroad, 1 December 2021
We help LGBTQI+ individuals get to safety from persecution and violence

Story

As we close out the year, the Pride@SAP ENG wanted to take one more opportunity to come together for 3 reasons.

1. To remember those in the LGBTQ+ community who have been impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic on this International AIDS Day, and to remove stigma around these topics

2. To raise money for Rainbow Railroad, who are fighting the modern epidemic of LGBTQ+ people facing discrimination and even death due to their orientations, and

3. To have great fun at an awesome quiz!

Around the world LGBTQI+ people continue to face oppression; in almost 70 countries there are laws that criminalize same sex intimacy and discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In eight countries same sex intimacy is punishable by death. The global refugee crisis is exasperating the plight of LGBTQI people worldwide. Rainbow Railroad exists to provide a solution to this problem, to provide solutions for individuals facing imminent danger and to get them to safety. We particularly chose Rainbow Railroad as they are currently supporting LGBTQ+ people to escape Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover.

Please do give as much as you are comfortably able to. It is a beautiful cause and we'd love to smash through our target!
