About Leeds Music Trust
Set up with a donation from our patrons Kaiser Chiefs in 2009, LMT invested in Leeds' oldest and most respected rehearsal studios Old Chapel Music Studios close to the city centre, but in a deprived locality, where the band spent it's formative years, writing a string of international hits.
LMT garnered support from other charities and funders to provide a new services at the site, including a recording studio, classroom and teaching space, and space for Cloth Cat Studios.
LMT believes that live music is a power for good which can break down social barriers and benefit both those involved and the wider communities of Leeds.
Our Mission is to provide educational musical opportunities that are ethical, intergenerational and inclusive. We support young musicians and give disadvantaged people in Leeds access to training, mentoring and skills development.
Our Aim is to promote the art of music, develop musical education and skills and provide professional expertise and facilities for amateur musicians and local communities.
Our Values are fun, equality and a sense of fair play.
