Story
I'm running the Loch Ness Marathon on the 30th September 2012 for Breast Cancer Care, and this is why...
On the 2nd of June 2004, my mum, Adrienne, lost her fight with Breast Cancer. I don't need to tell you how hard it is to watch the most important person in your life slip away from you. In the eight years that have passed my life has changed in many ways - I've done so many things I wish I could tell her about, and met so many people I wish she could know too. I miss her every single day.
This year, I've decided that it was about time I pushed myself to the limit and ran a marathon. I was never the sporty type at school but have discovered in recent years that as long as you can put one foot in front of the other, running doesn't require much else - just determination and practice!
My chosen charity is Breast Cancer Care. I know far too many people who's lives have been affected by Breast Cancer - so i'm not just running for my mum, I'm running for everyone else who's had their lives changed in some way by Breast Cancer.
Breast Cancer Care want every person affected by breast cancer to get the very best treatment, information and support and this guides everything they do. My mum depended a great deal on the support of other sufferers, so I've seen the difference it can make.
