Story
UK Grandmother Ann McCarthy was first shown Ruhanga in south-west Uganda in 2005 by her safari driver, Denis Aheirwe. Denis had dreams of building a Guest House and provide jobs for local villagers. Today, a school now runs alongside clean water supply and medical centre.
The project is in dire need of new funds to provide food, medical care and education to the community.
During my medical elective, I will be volunteering in the medical centre and community at Uganda Lodge. I will then be crossing the border into Tanzania to climb 5,895 metres on the highest single free-standing mountain (above sea level) in Africa! I hope my adventure will inspire you to donate to a great cause.
