Both Nicola and Kyleigh have finished the Plymouth half marathon before but it is something I have always wanted to do but never got around to doing. My mum was diagnosed with Motor neurone disease and it wasn't an illness I was very aware of and at the time one I didn't want to read too much into but over the years we saw how it effected my brave mum and although she was so strong and fought her illness so well along the way with great dignity she sadly passed away this year. 

It was the most difficult thing to see my mum suffering so badly but seeing her smile and be so positive taught me to be strong myself. She was truly inspirational and would never moan but keep doing the things she loved despite it getting more and more difficult. 

MND currently has no cure so we are running and raising money to make awareness and hopefully one day there will be a cure. 

My mum is missed every day by so many people, she was a loving, kind, thoughtful lady with a great outlook on life and we will be running in memory of her.
