Story
This year I am taking part in the Race for life in memory of my beautiful friend Tanya.
Sadly she passed away last year after a strong fight against lung cancer. She was a mum and was due to get married just four weeks from when she passed, but thankfully married in her home just days before it happened. I will always remember Tanya as a strong and inspirational person who never let anything out her down.
A year before she found out she had lung cancer, Tanya had been fighting cervical cancer and had been given the all clear, she was so happy and loved the fact that her hair was growing back and I will always remember on a night out she asked us to straighten her hair for her because as she had joked she looked like Dennis the Menis! unfortunately though the cancer returned and although fighting hard it developed very quickly.
In the last few weeks I went to visit her and we spent the weekend watching films ( scary ones I may add as these were her favourite although we always regretted it after) and chatting about the old times. When I heard the news that it wasn't going to be much longer I went to visit her to say my goodbyes. A few weeks later I received the news I hadn't wanted to hear but I am pleased that she went peacefully in her sleep with her loved ones around her.
I urge anyone reading this to please donate any amount large or small as we have to put a stop to this, too many people young or old are being affected but this and it is too common these days. We must raise vital money to go towards research to find a cure!
Please dig deep and support this amazing charity xxxxxxx
