Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.

In 2008, my brother Jason was diagnosed with Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. After a gruelling and aggressive treatment plan, the cancer is now in remission, and Jason has decided he wants to help raise money for the Macmillan's nurses who helped him throughout his ordeal.

An all-day event has been planned, for Saturday 27th February, at the Duke of Cumberland pub in Gateshead, near Newcastle. Throughout the day local bands will be playing and there will be lots of fundraising events, such as leg-waxing, raffles and spot-prize draws, all ending with the spectacular event of me and my sister, Michelle Gallagher, and the landlord of the pub, Sean Rice, having our heads shaved.

I know that I am not looking forward to having my gorgeous, long, red locks shawn off, and i'm pretty sure Michelle and Sean aren't looking forward to their new look either, but we all agree, that with the sponsors we have collected this is a fantastic way to raise money for the Macmillans nurses, who rely solely on donations to keep running.

Please donate as much or as little as you can, every little bit helps towards keeping this fantastic charity afloat, and doing the wonderful job that they do now.

Many, many thanks,

Kayleigh.
