Story
St Columba's is a great charity that aims to provide palliative care to those with advanced illness and support to their families. After my dad decided against treatment and the terminal illness advanced, St Columba's Hospice was there to provide his care through the in-patient unit and support for my family, particularly my wonderful mum who nursed him until that point. In April 2015 it will be two years since he passed away and I wish to raise as much money as possible for this charity to help them so that they are able to continue to provide such high quality care and assistance.
So in 2013 I took part in the Race for Life 5k, in 2014 it was the Baker Hughes 10k and this year I have decided to take it a step further with attempting to complete the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 31st May 2015.
My aim for the past few years has been to raise as much money as possible for various cancer charities - Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Support. This year I am fundraising for a charity that is close to my heart, St Columba's Hospice.
Please help me with my fundraising for St Columba's Hospice and if you want come along to laugh at my attempt at running 21km/13.1 miles on Saturday 31st May the finish line is in Musselburgh!
Thanks x
