Story

So I have decided I am going to participate in the Natterjack Seaside 10k (6.2 miles) in Southport for a cause that is so close to my heart. The run will take place on the 27th September later this year, i'm so glad i've got time because right now none of my jeans fit and I couldn't run a single mile. Let the training commence!

Every donation made will go towards Epilepsy Action. They are an amazing charity who help those affected by epilepsy. Here's some examples of what your money would go towards;

  • £6 helps fund their experts support somebody newly diagnosed with epilepsy, providing them with essential advise and information when they need it the most!
  • £25 can help campaign to protect against existing epilepsy specialist nurses from NHS cuts.
  • £50 can fund a 6 month supply of information booklets and leaflets needed by a specialist nurse for their patients - more reliable information than googling it!
  • £180 could fund an awareness session at a school, work place or care home by a specially trained volunteer - this would have really helped me.
  • £250 could help fund brand new research, such as a long term clinical study by a research centre of excellence.

I am fortunate enough to have already had so much support just for having the idea.. my fabulous running team;

John Evanson- 'Dad,please do a run with me!!' back in April haha.. he didn't hesitate.

Paul Horan- My lovely step-dad, soon stepped up and offered

Blaire Horan- Fab step-sis.. soon offered too.

Dannii Foster- Gorgeous friend soon showed her support

Anna Dooley and Matt Claxton- my lovely cousin and boyfriend were up for the challenge

Mark McDermott- My Uncle with a heart of gold stepped up, he has once ran the London marathon after all!

Mark Frost- determined to give it a go and wanted to contribute to a good cause

Thank you guys for choosing to join me, those who have already donated and those who will be there on the day and have shown me support through my training. It's keeping me going.

I have been affected myself by epilepsy and was diagnosed in March 2014. I had struggled with partial seizures for almost 7 years but was unaware of my epilepsy due to my lack of awareness! I am blessed that I am now on medication daily and my seizures have severely reduced however others are not as fortunate as myself and their lives can be devastated by epilepsy, in some cases it can even cause death. That's why we need more research. Epilepsy doesn't discriminate,it can affect anybody of any age, race, gender or IQ level.

Thank you for reading my story and for anybody that is generous enough to make a donation. Every single penny and pound that is donated means so much to me. Literally anything that you can afford, every little bit helps towards our target.
