Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
My mum has suffered with vision problems all her life and a few years ago developed age-related macular degeneration – a gradual loss of central vision – further impairing her already low vision. This diagnosis was a big blow as it seemed that my mum faced the frightening prospect of total loss of vision due to her other eye conditions. The Macular Degeneration clinic at Moorfields Eye Hospital has been absolutely fantastic in understanding how even the smallest improvement in sight is so important for people with low vision and is doing a brilliant job in preserving as much of my mum's sight as possible. She is now able to participate in all the activities she enjoys and is positive about the future knowing that she is within the care of Moorfields.
Moorfields is carrying out research into a cure for macular degeneration and I would like to be part of the effort to make macular degeneration a challenge of the past. Suzanne, a good friend of my sister, is joining me on this 14 mile walk as my sister is out of the country.
Any amount you donate will also make you a part of the cure.
