Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.  I'm running for R Charity in memory of my amazing Mum and Dad - Sue and George Rudge :) 

"Every year, staff working at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust make such a positive difference to the lives of thousands of people across Liverpool and the North West. To help ensure the best possible outcomes for these patients within our care, the R Charity fundraising team are continuously working with teams across the Trust to fund vital equipment and improve facilities."

Our story: My Dad George was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Blood Cancer in 2006 and was treated for 8 years at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals. My Dad died in November 2014 and throughout that time we were so well supported and cared for as a family by the hospital and staff.  My Mum died in February of this year (2019) from Lung Cancer; she had worked tirelessly in the NHS at Broadgreen Hospital for 40 years. So R-Charity has a very special place in our hearts and lives!! 

In tribute to my Mum and Dad they were amazing parents -  my best mates - full of love and they always valued every aspect of the care and support they received and the people they met in the hospitals and care settings over so many years; All of the staff, fellow patients and families. We can never thank the NHS enough for the precious extra time we were given together! I will always do my best, for as long as I can, to lend my skills and support in memory of them -  also, remembering anyone who is currently going through diagnosis, treatments, palliative care or bereavement -  and all those who care for us along the way! 

Among all the sayings and gems my Mum and Dad left me with - I am sure they would both say at this point... 'There is only today!' and 'Never Give Up!!' :)
