As most of you know I am off to Uganda with 20 other Aston University students this summer for a month, June 11th – July 10th.

The principal aim is to work with local businesses to help develop them though business consultation and microfinance investment.

The project will also encompass helping to educate local children about the deadly AIDS virus. Whilst also attempting to limit the number of children who get malaria through education and distribution of mosquito nets.

The money raised will be used to purchase tools, pay for translators, food, mosquito nets and help contribute towards our work (helping the local people) whilst out in Uganda.

The more money we raise the more we can donate to the community, your sponsorship will make up part of this, depending on how much you want to give, these are a few examples of what can be brought with the money:

 - Mosquito net-  £3.50 (One out of every five children will die before his or her fifth birthday because of malaria, AIDS, or malnutrition)
 - Buying oil, cooking pot and produce for a woman to start selling chips- around £30
  - Pay for a translator- £5-10 a day (average wage is $1 US a day)
