Urban Exposure is proud to have been a sponsor of Akshaya Patra for the last two years. As a charity it delivers maximum impact for each pound it receives - reaching an astonishing 1.4m children each day. It's one of the most efficient and highly audited of charities in the world today.

About the Charity:

• The Akshaya Patra Foundation provides hot, nutritious school meals to 1.4 million children every day across 10 states in India
• £10 can feed 1 child for a whole year
  
• £2500 can feed an entire school for a whole year
• £0.96 from every £1.00 donated goes directly towards producing food for children

"These free midday meals encourage children to attend school and stay in school whilst tackling hunger and malnutrition. For many it will be the only meal they receive that day – and the biggest incentive to come to school. 

By providing free school meals, we are shaping the next generation of India's children, giving them the opportunity to have a career that previously was out of reach. 

Our Food for Education programme would not be sustainable if it wasn't truly making a difference. Our impact reports and Stories of Hope from young children who are beneficiaries of the midday meal demonstrate how effectively The Akshaya Patra Foundation is lifting Indian families out of poverty and enabling them to aim towards a better future."
