Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.
Steve and I are running the Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth on Sunday 30th October. It's a 10 mile course and neither of us are natural runners! We'd really appreciate your support, as the charity we are running for is very close to our hearts...
We have dear friends whose son, Thomas, has Cockayne Syndrome. This is a rare, genetic, premature aging disorder that leads to shortened life expectancy. Thomas is a loving and affectionate 7 year old who we have known since birth. It is heart breaking for us to watch his parents, our fabulous friends Cath and Rich, his wonderful sister Ellie, our daughter Abi's best friend, and Thomas himself, cope with the afflictions of this terrible disorder on a daily basis.
Amy and Friends is a charity that supports children and families suffering with Cockayne Syndrome in the UK and we would like to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity and also raise awareness of the disorder.
Steve works for Barclays Bank who will match £ for £ the money we raise so it's really worth raising as much as we can!
Please take time to read more about Cockayne Syndrome and visit the website www.amyandfriends.org and sponsor us as much as you can. Thank you.
