Having only completed the odd 10k, I thought 2009 would be my year to try a more challenging race and what better race to participate in than the Great North Run? I grew up minutes from the finish line, watching the runners completing every year, I always wanted to run it myself one day. I have tried to take my training preparations quite seriously, which has been extremely difficult at times! Roll on September 20th and here's hoping for once there is a cool North Sea breeze.
