About KAA Intrepidus Trust (KIT)
We are the KAA Intrepidus Trust, aka 'KIT', a charity set up after the Grenfell tragedy to provide students at Kensington Aldridge Academy with extra-curricular opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
Kensington Aldridge Academy (KAA) is an outstanding secondary school serving a disadvantaged community in London’s North Kensington (over 50% of our students are on Free School Meals - double the national average). Our school community is not short on ambition and passion, but has sadly been tested far more than most, having been deeply affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, in which five of its pupils very sadly lost their lives.
The good news is that the school has a charitable trust - the KAA Intrepidus Trust (KIT) - which develops and fundraises for sports, performing & creative arts, wellbeing and life-skills opportunities for the 1,300 pupils at the school.
We aim to broaden our students' horizons, raise their aspirations and provide access to opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable.
We open doors to a rich variety of educational enrichments in performing and creative arts, life skills, wellbeing, and sport, and create partnerships to further support these programmes. Examples include instrumental tuition, Duke of Edinburgh Award, rowing, mentoring, a free Breakfast Club and work experience.
