Story

Hello,
I first went to Chickenshed when I was FIVE DAYS OLD. I have been going there ever since, whenever I can. It is a place where everyone is welcomed and everybody is accepted for what they are and for what they CAN do. We have to make sure places like Chickenshed are around so that all people have an opportunity to sing and dance and act, to make friends and have FUN. I think these things are ALWAYS going to be important.

That's why I want to help and that's why I'm asking you to help me by donating anything you can, TO HELP CHICKENSHED STAY SAFE!

I have been learning lots of new tracks on guitar during lockdown. I'll play one every day and record them for you to see. I will post them on my mum's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/rachel.yates.9 at the end of every week in July.

If you're lucky my mum might sing along to some of the songs. If you're unlucky my dad might play along on guitar!!

Thank you!
Jude xxx

In 2019, Chickenshed provided support, education, mentoring and a place to belong to over 1,000 children and young people. For many, Chickenshed is their second home.Over 60% of the children and young people we reach have experienced isolation and exclusion due to mental or physical ill-health, disability, bullying, gang pressure, being in the care system or being a young carer themselves - often a combination of these things. These factors result in exclusion from mainstream schools, colleges, universities and social activities, adding to their personal feelings of neglect. At Chickenshed we help them to feel accepted, nurtured and valued, empowering them to achieve more than they ever thought possible. We give them opportunities where they would otherwise fall through the cracks.Chickenshed needs to be able to continue its vital work in order to provide a lifeline to all of these children and young people - and the thousands of other children and young people throughout London
