Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Hello,

A few years back my Grandmother was diagnosed with Dementia and over the years I have seen her, a strong independent lady who travelled the world who enjoyed life and lived it to the max, become bound to her bed.

After years of saying “I’m going to try and make a difference” I finally am. My cousin and I are aiming to raise about £250 each to help people who suffer from Dementia for a better quality of living.

We will be participating in Nikes ‘Run to the Beat’ in Greenwich Park, London, on the 8 of September. If you also would like to help us make a difference and improve the quality of living for people who suffer from Dementia, then please get your wallets/purses out and pledge. We all would be so grateful.

Updatings

So 4 weeks till the big day. I've stepped up my traing these past few weeks, I've been doing 2-3 runs a week at a distance of 7-9 miles and this week I went big! I ran my first 11.5 mile run in 1 hour and 29 minutes. So progress is good.

More updates as and when they happen!

Thank you for taking time to read my story and for visiting my page.

Please, spread the word! =)
