Tough Mudder Midlands 2015 · 30 May 2015 to 31 May 2015 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

In dedication to our friend (and Chris’s sister), Jo Lambert Candlin, we are running Tough Mudder at Boughton House in Kettering on May 30th in order to raise money to add to Jo's fundraising campaign which is raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Nearly 2 years ago, Jo was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and unfortunately no treatments have been effective meaning that her time with us is now very short.  She tried multiple forms of chemotherapy without success, and also took part in an early stage clinical trial carried out by Oxford University/NHS and funded by Cancer Research UK.  As with the other treatments, the trial wasn't successful for Jo, but she knew that the research the team at the Churchill Hospital still need to continue their work to find ways to cure cancer in other people, and she has dedicated her time to fundraising for Cancer research so that they can continue this crucial work.

Now that Jo is unable to carry on with her fundraising, we are on a mission to continue raise as much money for her and Cancer Research UK as possible.  So we have gathered together a group of fantastic friends (Chris, Tony, Martin, John, Charlie, Nick, James, Lea, Scott and Ben) to take part in the Tough Mudder Challenge to keep the fundraising going.

The Tough Mudder Challenge is a ridiculously difficult 12 mile obstacle course (https://toughmudder.co.uk/events/what-is-tough-mudder) so please dig deep and donate to this great cause for a great cause and amazing girl, and give us that extra bit of motivation to get up early for runs, not eat that last slice of pizza or force that extra rep at the gym!

Thank you for your support
