Thanks for taking time to visit my Just giving page
Hi all, I’ve entered the Bath Half Marathon in March 2010 on behalf of the Salisbury district hospital Stars Appeal (http://www.starsappeal.org) and am hoping to complete the course in under 2hrs 15mins. For those of you who don’t know both of our youngest children, Ethan & Blythe were born early, Ethan at 33 weeks, Blythe at 34 weeks and each spent 2 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Salisbury. As most of you know while Ethan & Blythe were both in hospital we had to spend a lot of time travelling between home in Shaftesbury and Salisbury hospital and so the current target for the Stars Appeal means a lot to us. The NICU unit will be moving to Wilton ward and so the Stars Appeal wants to raise £250,000 to fund the creation of a family unit for parents of premature and critically ill babies being treated by NICU. This will involve the conversion of the current building into en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen, living area and a playroom for older brothers & sisters, all of this will allow parents to be able to spend longer and even stay overnight at the unit. There will also be a quiet room to give greater privacy at difficult times and space for parent education so staff can help them get ready to take their baby home.
