Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Anyone who knows me will know that I suffered a brain haemorrhage in June 2012 which changed my life completely. After suffering a bleed to the brain, I was left paralysed in my left arm which has been challenging for me over the years as I was previously left handed. I’ve always had a passion for art and movies and since suffering from my brain injury I have retaught myself to draw with my right hand. This is why I have set up this JustGiving page today. I attend a charity in Glasgow called Headway, which is a charity specifically for people who have suffered from brain injuries. This charity means a lot to me and my family,, it’s a place I can go where I feel comfort around people who have experienced similar situations to myself. I have always felt really welcome and understood, and it has helped with my mental health massively. Since the pandemic, Headway are struggling with funds as I’m sure many charities are. As members, we have all set ourselves individual tasks to try and raise some funds for our charity. My goal is “100 drawings for 100 pounds”. Almost everyday during lockdown I have been hand drawing & then colouring different film covers, posters, books etc. This has been a great focus to keep me going during this crazy time. If anyone (and thank you if you have even made it reading this far haha!) could spare any donation big or small to get me to my goal it would really mean the world to me.
A big thanks again for listening! Also if anyone would like to purchase a drawing or have me draw something for them please don’t hesitate to message me :) all the best, John.
