A.M.E.N.D. Is our chosen charity we will be raise money for. We have chosen this charity because they have in the past and still are helping out Jack's (our leader's) family, as his dad’s side of the family have a genetic condition called M.E.N.1 (Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1). M.E.N.1 forms tumours which can either be benign or cancerous. Unfortunately for Jack's uncle his tumours were cancerous and as a result of this he passed away in 2013 at the age of 43. His daughter and Jack's dad are both undergoing regularly treatment to try and catch the tumours as early as possible to try and prevent their tumours take a turn for the worst. Luckily Jack and his sister Lara don’t have the M.E.N.1 gene.

We're taking 3 teams of Burgess Hill Runners and Friends to conquer 3 mountains across 3 countries (hard work) in 24 hours (even tougher!). Although not quite as tough for me personally as I've just fractured my arm so a bit of a passenger. Apparently my fear of heights was justified and the obstacle course attempt not entirely helpful in overcoming! :-)
