Story

November 2009

It's nearly 3 months after we completed the Ultimate Challenge run, and as we have continued to share our vision for the massive expansion of our centre network, we have smashed our target and now raised well over the £750,000 we believed God for.

Our guests at the CAP Client Awards and Fundraising Dinner gave so generously that we have well exceeded our initial expectations, but the story doesn't end here. Every further pound given will make a huge difference to the challenge we face next year financially. So please dig deep and donate now – do what you can do.

August 2009

As the recession continues across the , more and more families and individuals are falling into unmanageable debt, suffering relationship breakdown, depression and even suicide as a result. These are desperate times, but CAP is responding with a massive expansion of our centre network to help meet the need. Over the next year, we'll be opening an additional 60 centres, offering many thousands more people across this nation the hope and solution they are crying out for.

To raise funds for what is the biggest expansion in the 13-year history of the charity, I will be running a mind-boggling 84 miles in just 30 hours, from Windermere to Ilkley along the . Three Marathons back to back, over a gradient of 8000 vertical feet, equivalent to climbing Ben Nevis and in one go! It might sound utterly crazy, but we are surrounded by such a massive need and we must act now to stop more and more families being torn apart by debt.

Two staff members, Martin Cowles and Tim Brown, and a friend and CAP supporter, Paul Cribb, will also run the full distance to support me on what will be the most gruelling physical challenge of my life.

Please stand with us at this pivotal time as we dig deep and persevere to change this nation one life at a time!
