Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Last year I took on the challenge of the Transcontinental Race www.transcontinentalrace.com in support of those living with or caring for people with dementia. My father, a cyclist himself, had been living with the illness and was being wonderfully cared for at Foxearth in Suffolk. Prior to that my mother had cared for him at home.
The challenges for all concerned are enormous both physically and emotionally and they deserve our support.
The transcontinental race is as tough as anything I am likely to take on. 2500 miles of clock starts, doesn't stop, until you reach the finish line in Istanbul. Passing through 12 European countries it is a totally unsupported solo endeavour. To get a taste for what I am in for please read and follow me via my blog at www.transcontinentalbikerace.blogspot.com and on twitter @johnnymbakewell
This year I race in my father's memory and in support of families facing the challenges that he and my mother took on together.
Last year we raised over £4000. Please help us surpass this fantastic total.
