Story
I have reached 1000 followers on my Twitch channel! This is very exciting for me, as the channel and the community I've discovered have made this year so much more bearable than it'd have otherwise been. We've done great things, whether that's been making each other laugh through silly attempts at gaming, chatted together about what's going on in the world, and singing our hearts out! We've also raised over £2000 for different charities, so I thought it'd be good to celebrate reaching 1000 followers, by raising £1000 for charity.
So, on Saturday 19th December, from 12pm GMT/UTC, I'll be streaming for 12 hours, featuring a variety of different games with my friends and fellow streamers, as well as a Twitch Sings Party (who doesn't love a good singalong). A full schedule will be out soon!
I've chosen Exeter Food Action as my charity for this event, for a few key reasons:
1. Exeter, my local community, has given me so much in the 8 years I've lived here, and there are so many fantastic people and organisations I've had the fortune to encounter over the years. Given how good the community has been to me, it feels right for me to shine a spotlight on that.
2. Food poverty is a really serious issue that affects many thousands of people in this city alone, and Exeter Food Action's mission to get food to those who need it is so crucial.
3. Food waste is a really serious issue. Exeter Food Action rescues over 30 tonnes of food every year and the groups that benefit from it save more than £80,000.
