For those who don’t know back in June mine and my family’s life was hit with the words ‘you have breast cancer’. This was found after a check up at the hospital for my usual visit to have my boobies examined because of my cysts. 

I was told right back at the start that I wouldn’t require Chemo because of the size of my lump (I called him Clyde) and the rate at which Clyde grows. Fast forward by a lumpectomy and no. 1 lymph node removal later and then a further surgery to complete lymph node clearance the mention of Chemo was mentioned. 

I’ll skip the intricacies and details and get to the point.

I have started chemo treatment and will lose my hair. I am choosing to take a bit of control and will buzz cut my hair when my lovely hairdresser will do this. Here’s the important bit. My 19 year old nephew Adam who has hair around 14” long has chosen to support me by having his hair shaved AND THEN IT WILL BE SENT TO LITTLE PRINCESS. A fantastic charity who use donated hair to make wigs for children. 

The money we raise and you donate will go to the Kent Breast Care service towards new technology, research, additional staff….I don’t know BUT what I do know is that it will contribute to helping and saving lives like mine was.
